Excellent communication from staff in advance of visit on parking and after hours access. Terrific help in getting bags up the MANY stairs to our room. Room next to restaurant and bar was very convenient. Staff assistance in getting car to central parking, breakfast, checking out and shuttle to parking was great. Provided breakfast was sumptious. Room and lighting was gorgeous. Location in central plaza with access to tours and great restaurants was perfect

We had a wonderful three night stay at the Sant ‘Angelo in Matera. Our room was fantastic with amazing views of the Sassi region of Matera. The staff at the hotel could not do enough for us. They were truly exceptional from the member of staff who carried our luggage up a number of steps to our room in the heat to the breakfast staff who greeted our every request with a smile. The Sant’Angelo is an exceptional hotel and I thoroughly recommend a stay here.

The staff at Sant’Angelo was truly amazing!!Everyone was so gracious, helpful and knowledgeable .Michele was fantastic. He went out of his way to make everything perfect for me and my family. This was the most amazing stay at this hotel. My grandparents are from Matera, so it was really special. The resort was like no other! The stunning views, the authenticity of the caves (with some added glam).The magical city views ! This is a must if you’re going to Matera. I can’t wait to go back.

This amazing hotel offers unique cave rooms, superb service, friendly helpful staff, and delicious breakfast offerings along with an excellent location. The manager is especially notable, and the breakfast manager as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was one of the highlights of our stay in Italy.

The whole hotel facility and how it was set up was great. Our room was so tastefully decorated and beautiful, the view from our patio was amazing. The breakfast was fantastic with a great choice of food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was excellent, so close to everything but quiet. Highly recommended.

Amazing rooms carved into the rock, relaxing atmosphere and delicious breakfast with local products. Plus, the location is perfect for getting around Matera on foot. A must try at least once in a lifetime!
